At my lowest point I was dealing with crippling anxiety and depression because of a startup business crash. This event left me broke, with massive debts and I was drinking to numb the feelings of being a complete failure. I was caught in deep shame and my negative self-talk had become unbearable. I had no idea I was stuck in a downward mental cycle or that I’d unknowingly trained my own brain negatively. The mental noise became unbearable and I almost jumped off the 6th floor of a parking garage to stop the constant stream of negativity in my head. I had officially sunk…
I’m on a mission to make mental health a conversation we can openly have.
Learning I was bipolar in rehab was extremely difficult for me to accept at first. Opening up about it was even harder because it has such a negative stigma. Mental challenges and substance abuse are shrouded in dark stigmas but they don’t have to be.
Talking openly about our struggles also gives others permission to feel and to heal. If we can be courageous enough to shine light into our own dark corners. We can examine the impact they have and learn the necessary tools to empower ourselves daily. We can absolutely live healthy and balanced lives, free of negative shrouds. This is why I’m so passionate about coaching people. I love showing them the power that actually have to re-wire their own brains. We can absolutely beat anxiety and depression, while also taking away the need to numb, if you lean on substances during these lows.
The goal is to become someone who can deal with their own emotions from a centered and awake place. Choosing our reactions consciously instead of just reacting blindly to the world, and creating positive, constructive patterns that become powerful habits. I want to put you in control and back in the captains seat.

you are literally stuck in your past:
We have 60,000 – 70,000 thoughts a day and 90% of those thoughts are the same as the day before. So if we are thinking the same way we did yesterday and the day before and the weeks before that, these thoughts become hard wired in our brian. Over years, if we don’t challenge our thinking patters then we essentially get stuck in the past. Stuck in old beliefs and stories that might not be grounded in reality at all. Those electrodes in the brain developed a habit or pattern and now that’s the automated way you think.
When we are living in the old thought pattens, we become controlled by them. However, If we become aware of our repeating thoughts and, through awareness, choose new ones, we can now break these old cycles. We eventually create a new “us”, with choice and control. This my friends is the game changer! We end up now controlling the ship instead of it controlling us. We can finally get past the things that have kept us stuck.

I’d like you to wake you up to your thought patterns and also question a few of them. As you do this, new opportunities in life show up, you gain confidence in areas you never knew possible and your need to numb diminishes greatly. Easing your need to rely on substances or things to distract you from your negative patterns. We take back control instead of our brain controlling us. This is of epic importance and is the catalyst for your life getting a lot easier.
